Two men, ages 65 and 56 years old, were driving in the area of the shelter and contacted Austin Dexter Heinecke (12/29/92) and an 18-year-old male. Heinecke and the 18-year-old man were homeless and the men offered them a place to stay. Heinecke and the 18-year-old male entered the vehicle with the men. As they drove Heinecke pulled out a knife, placed it against the 65-year-old man’s neck and demanded his wallet. The victim physically resisted and was cut on the hand by Heinecke’s knife. Heinecke and the 18-year-old fled from the car, but they were quickly apprehended by officers. It was determined that the 18-year-old was unaware of Heinecke’s intentions. Heinecke was booked into jail for aggravated assault.
