Antonio Vasquez (33) and a 33-year-old man were visiting with their friend Michael Vigil (5-6-76) when the men began to argue. Vigil retrieved a handgun from the house and shot both Vasquez and the other man. Vasquez died on scene and the other victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Vigil was taken into custody on scene and was booked into jail on several charges, including aggravated murder and possession of a firearm by a restricted person. Update: Victim at hospital in stable condition.
1899 S. State Street
A 59-year-old man allowed an unidentified female to stay in his motel room. A male acquaintance of the female came to the room and demanded money from the man. When the man refused, the male suspect physically assaulted him. The suspects fled after taking the victim’s bank card. The male suspect’s identity is known to investigators. The other suspect was described as a black female who was approximately 30 years old and 5’6″ tall. She was last seen wearing a light purple shirt, green sweat pants and a baseball cap.
