The Watch Command Log is a daily summary of events of significance compiled by Watch Commanders. There are three watches in a 24-hour period: days, afternoons and graveyards. 171 W. 500 S.

A 25-year-old woman who had posted an escort advertisement arranged to meet a man. When they met, the man hit the victim and took her purse. The victim was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The suspect was described as a male black adult, 6 feet 4 inches tall, with a medium build. The suspect wore an orange colored t-shirt, blue pajama bottoms and a white doo-rag on his head.

Traffic Accident
600 S. State Street

A 32-year-old woman was driving southbound on State Street. A 66-year-old man was driving a Jeep Wrangler eastbound on 600 South. The woman ran the red light and struck the Jeep, which pushed the Jeep into another vehicle and caused the Jeep to roll. The woman was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. She was later upgraded to stable condition.


1100 E. 2100 S.

An officer witnessed Jeffery Kaverli (10/2/60) attempt to punch a 27-year-old man. Kaverli was violent and non-compliant with the officer. The officer took Kaverli to the ground and placed him into custody. Kaverli was treated on scene for minor injuries, then booked into jail on charges of assault and public intoxication.

Aggravated Assault
350 W. Hope Ave.

Jerome Little (8/7/85) filled a shopping cart with merchandise and left the Wal-Mart store without paying. When Little was approached by security in the parking lot, he became uncooperative and physically resisted detention. While the security officers were attempting to gain control, Little drew a pistol from his pants and threatened to kill them. The security officers recognized the pistol as a plastic Airsoft-type gun and continued to take Little into custody. Little was booked into jail on charges of aggravated assault and retail theft.

Traffic Accident
300 W. 600 S.

A 35-year-old woman was traveling westbound on 600 South, against the flow of traffic. The woman’s vehicle collided head on with an Audi. The woman was transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition. The driver and passenger of the Audi were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.


Shots Fired
1315 S. 200 E.

Several people reported shots being fired at the above apartment complex. All of the involved parties fled in vehicles. Officers contacted each apartment and did not locate anyone that was injured or involved. The exterior of the apartment complex and a vehicle were struck by bullets. This investigation is ongoing.
