January 18, 2013 — The Salt Lake City Police Department seeks the public’s help in identifying and locating a man caught on surveillance video as he robbed a store at the Gateway shopping mall.

Thursday, January 17, 2013, at about 12:15 p.m., a man entered a mall store and approached a clerk.  He asked the clerk for change from the cash register.  As the clerk opened the till, the suspect grabbed cash and left the store. No one was injured. Surveillance video can be viewed on SLCPD’s YouTube channel.

The suspect is described as follows:

  • male white adult
  • 20-25 years old
  • 5 feet 6 inches tall, 160 lbs., thin build
  • Wearing black knit cap, blue/black jacket, over a light blue hoodie, and black knit pants
