Scott Ponciroli (7/19/62) sold an undercover detective with Safe Streets Task Force marijuana. Ponciroli was taken into custody without incident and was in possession of a handgun, a large quantity of marijuana, heroin and cash. Ponciroli was booked into jail on charges of distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a restricted person.
Assault on a PO/Shot fired
1471 E. Westminster Ave.
Officers responded on a woman screaming and a man running around outside. A responding officer was immediately attacked by William Black (8/5/92), who attempted to tackle and disarm the officer. During the struggle, Black fired one round through the officer’s holster. Additional officers were able to take Black into custody. Black was booked into jail on several charges that included disarming a peace officer and aggravated assault.
Lakeline Dr. / Carrigan Canyon Dr.
A 52-year-old man threatened to shoot himself at his residence and fired one round from a handgun into the floor. No one was injured, but family members called police. Responding officers established telephonic contact with the man, who agreed to exit the home unarmed. The man was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.
