Update: Suspicious Ice Cream Van

Several calls were received about a suspicious ice cream van (reported on 10/4/13 in the area of Wasatch Elementary) in the above area. Officers stopped the van and transported the driver to the Police Department to be interviewed by detectives. The man was cooperative with officers and allowed a search of his van and residence. As a result, the BOLO is cancelled. The driver of the ice cream truck is not considered a suspect in any crime. Detectives will be in contact with the school district this morning. The Salt Lake City Police Department would like to thank the public for reporting any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area.

Unwanted Person/Resisting Arrest/CED Deployment

Dispatch received a report of a man at the laundry mat acting strange and scaring customers. Officers arrived and made contact with Larry D. West (4/25/75), who was immediately combative with officers and resisted arrest. West was eventually taken into custody after a drive stun from a CED (Taser). Officers booked West on possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools and several outstanding warrants.
