3:52 p.m. Bank Robbery
3190 S. Richmond
The suspect entered the America First Credit Union and demanded money from the teller. The suspect was given money and then fled southbound on foot. Suspect described as a male white adult (25-35), 5 feet 10 inches tall, medium build, blonde hair, blonde unshaven facial hair, black rim glasses, wearing a gray hoodie, a dark beanie and jeans. No weapons seen.
1:46 p.m. Recovered Stolen Vehicle
876 E. 800 S.
An officer observed a vehicle enter the Smith’s parking lot at a high rate of speed. Two occupants exited the vehicle and went into the store. The officer discovered that the vehicle was listed as stolen. The suspect driver, Robert Gates (5/24/71), then came out of the store and was arrested after he attempted to get back into the stolen vehicle. The white male passenger, who wore dark clothing, did not return to the vehicle and remains outstanding. Gates was booked into jail for possession of stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, and paraphernalia.
