8:01 a.m.
Automobile/Pedestrian Accident
300 W. 2100 S.

A truck with a trailer was southbound on 300 West. As the driver made a right turn onto 2100 South, it struck a male pedestrian. The driver dragged the man several feet before realizing what had happened. Medical transported the victim to a local hospital where he is in critical condition.  Investigation ongoing.

Traffic Accident
150 W. 2100 S.

A driver lost control of her vehicle and struck a building. She backed up from the building and continued west to the TRAX line where she next struck a warning pole in the island. She continued driving, hitting another pole, where the car finally came to a stop. Medical transported the woman, who may have suffered a seizure and was in serious condition, to a local hospital. Investigation ongoing.

6:31 p.m.
1234 S. Main St.

Officers stopped a teenager for trespassing at Horizonte High School. He was combative with officers, who took him into custody. A group started to assemble, at which point someone punched an officer in the head. Other students became combative and more officers responded. A Taser was deployed on two persons who were fighting officers. Officers booked Latu Latu (3/24/96) on several charges, including riot and resisting. They also booked two 17-year-old juveniles into detention for riot, interfering and resisting.

12:30 a.m.
900 W. 600 N.

A man reported driving through the area when someone threw something at his car. As the driver exited the car, the suspect pulled a knife and slashed the victim’s hand. The suspect and a female accomplice fled the scene. A cell phone recovered by Crime Lab at the scene led officers to Tommy Tucker (3/7/86), who was booked for aggravated assault and obstruction.
