Auto Ped-Hit and Run
1019 W 400 S
The 5 year old victim was crossing the street at the above location when she was struck by a vehicle traveling east bound on 400 S. The vehicle did not stop, it was describe as a 2000 small 4 door sedan (like a Nissan), possible tan or white in color with a black and white Polynesian tribal sticker above the rear license plate and possible front end damage. The victim was transported to Primary Children’s Hospital in serious condition. Detectives were called out and responded.
As of this writing the victim is still in serious condition with severe head trauma.
Graffiti in progress/Foot pursuit
925 S State Street
Reports of a male Hispanic with a long black t-shirt and tan pants was observed tagging the Auto Zone located at 900 S State St. Officers observed the suspect walking north bound on State street from this location with a group of friends. Officers attempted to stop the individuals and they decided to flee on foot. Officers gave chase and were able to apprehend the main suspect who refused to comply and resisted arrest. After a short struggle he was taken into custody. The suspect was transported to DT for criminal mischief, resisting and fleeing on foot.
