Fatal Traffic Accident
1700 South 900 West
Kori D. Eaton (5/5/64) was riding his motorcycle southbound on 900 West when an eastbound van ran the red light at 1700 South, causing the motorcyclist to collide with the van. Eaton was not wearing a helmet and sustained serious injuries to his head. He died shortly after being transported to a local hospital. No injuries to the occupants of the van, and no indication that the driver was impaired.
1638 S. Secret Garden Place
SLC911 received several calls of a fight and shots being fired in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Officers arrived and found two Polynesian males in the parking lot with blood on their clothing. Witnesses said that the two men had argued with some Polynesian females, an incident which turned into a fight. Two other Polynesian males appeared and one of them fired several shots into the air. The other involved parties fled the scene; investigation is ongoing.
