25 N. Redwood St. (Love’s Truck Stop)

A clerk at the truck stop realized that two semi-trucks were taking too long to pump what appeared to be a small amount of fuel. The truck stop has been a victim of fuel thefts in the past. After responding and conducting an investigation, officers arrested Adolpho Fontez (9/30/73) at the pumps and Orlando Villarta-Mendez (9/18/62) on the I-80 westbound on-ramp for felony theft. Both rigs were impounded. Some 350 gallons of fuel were taken.

Shots Fired
619 N. Catherine Circle

A witness saw two men walking westbound along 600 North. A few minutes later, he heard gunshots and saw what he thought were the same men running eastbound on 600 North. More gunshots were heard farther away. Officers responded but could not locate any suspects. Officers did find two bullet holes, one in a nearby vehicle and the other in an apartment building entryway. Gang detectives have assumed the investigation.
