DV Assault/Taser Deployment
Officers were dispatched to a family fight at this address. It was determined that Angel Lopez Estrada 04/22/97 had assaulted a cousin and his aunt. Angel had fled the area. During the course of the investigation, Angel returned to the address. Officers challenged Angel and Angel walked away and put his hand in his waistband. Officers told Angel to stop and Angel turned and came towards Officers in an aggressive manner. An Officer deployed his Tazer and Angel was taken into custody. Angel was booked into jail for Assault DV and failure to comply.
218 N. J St.
Officers were dispatched on a report of a burglary with suspect info. After taking the initial report, the victim called back and stated that the suspect had returned. A 15 year old Juvenile had earlier broken into the house and stole several bottles of alcohol. At approximately 0139 the juvenile returned to the house to attempt to return the alcohol. The juvenile admitted to taking the alcohol and stated that there was another person with him, but refused to identify the other suspect. The juvenile was taken into custody and booked for Burglary and Obstruction of Justice.
900 E. 600 S.
Dispatch received several reports of shots fired in the area of 900 E. 600 S. Officers arrived in the area and found Cesar Gaxiola with a gunshot wound to the head. Officers were able to make contact with the shooter and took him into custody along with several witnesses. Cesar was transported to a local hospital but later died from the gunshot wound. At this time no arrests have been made and the investigation is on-going. Two weapons were recovered from the scene and secured into evidence. The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office for any applicable criminal charges.
