Car prowl arrest

McDonald’s employees noticed a male getting into unlocked cars. A Salt Lake Airport Police Lieutenant was in the area and detained the male until Salt Lake City Police arrived. Carlos Chaparro (3/27/80) was booked into jail for vehicle burglary and attempted vehicle burglary. All property was returned to the owners.
Foot pursuit capture
215 S. 500 W.
An officer recognized wanted person, Addarryll “Cesar” Johnson (8/18/77), walking in the area. The officer attempted to take Cesar into custody, but he fled on foot. The officer caught Cesar who was then booked into jail for the outstanding felony warrant and the new charge of fleeing.
109 S. 300 E.
An officer observed a stolen Jeep Cherokee in the area of 315 E. 200 S. The officer followed the Jeep into the 7-11 parking lot and initiated a traffic stop. The driver of the Jeep, Kevin Hayes (9/12/87) was subsequently arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, possession of Oxycontin, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a weapon by a restricted person.
