SALT LAKE CITY — After releasing still photos yesterday, the Salt Lake City Police Department releases surveillance video in hopes it will prompt tips from the public and lead to identification and apprehension of the suspect who robbed a credit union last night.

Case Summary:

At 6:12 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2013, the manager of University Federal Credit Union, 490 E. 500 S., reported that he was confronted by a man brandishing a handgun and what appeared to be an improvised explosive device as he left the building. The suspect forced the manager back into the bank where other employees were still closing for the night. The employees complied with the suspect’s demands and he fled the credit union on foot.

The community should consider the suspect armed, dangerous and possibly still in possession of the IED.

Suspect description:

  • Dark pants, olive green hoodie,
  • Sunglasses over a green ski mask, heavy gloves.
