An officer located a stolen 99 Honda Civic parked at 1236 S. Redwood. The officer saw Dominique Montoya (9/15/89) get into the Honda. The officer parked in front of the car and Montoya immediately got out and ran Northbound. The officer pursued Montoya on foot to 1680 W. Paxton Ave, where he ran behind a fence and discarded a handgun. The officer took Montoya into custody without further incident and recovered the handgun. Burglary tools and Methamphetamine were also located on Montoya. Montoya was booked for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, burglary tools, failure to stop for a police officer and possession of a firearm by a restricted person.
