Security at the Maverik observed a man conceal three cans of beer on his person. The security officer explained to the suspect that if were to simply hand over the beer the matter would be considered over and done with. In response the suspect pulled out a screwdriver and threatening to stab and kill them both. The suspect then fled north to the 4th St. Clinic where SLCPD officers confronted him. He resisted and was combative.  Al Charlie, 28, was taken into custody and booked on multiple charges including aggravated robbery, resisting and public intoxication.

Two men were fighting in the roadway in front of the shelter and one of them stabbed the other.  The 27-year-old victim was transported to the hospital in serious condition. The suspect was identified by video surveillance and police are searching for him.
