Compiled by Watch Commanders in the field, the Watch Log is a summary of events that stand out to them in a given 24-hour period. Call times listed are approximate and typically reflect the first call received by SLC911 (Dispatch) for a given case. 210 S. Rio Grande St.
A man and a woman were approached by several people on the sidewalk. A male suspect tried to take the man’s backpack when the woman tried to intervene. A female suspect then took the woman’s purse and removed items from inside. Police were called and located the two suspects. Lamont Anderson (43 years old) was booked into jail for robbery, and Alora Mcraven (26 years old) was booked for robbery and assault.
471 W. 800 S.
A man entered the restaurant and demanded money. He stated he had a gun but none was seen. The victim was unable to open the cash register and the suspect left the store without getting any money. The suspect was described as a white male adult, approximately 50 years old, heavy set, had a beard, and was wearing a dark jacket and a hat.
428 W. 300 S.
An altercation occurred between two men. During the altercation the victim was stabbed in the abdomen. The suspect then fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The suspect was described as a tall male, wearing a red coat.
868 E. 2700 S.
Neighbors called to report that several suspects were removing items from the garage of an unoccupied house. Officers located a stolen truck driving at a high rate of speed and attempted to stop it. The truck turned into a dead end street, the driver abandoned the truck and fled into the block. K9 Otto was deployed and located the suspect hiding in a back yard. The suspect was bitten but fought back against the K9, and other officers assisted in subduing him. The suspect was treated at a local hospital for the bite. Officers then booked Joseph Zimmerman (34 years old) into jail for burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, obstruction and possession of methamphetamine. No other suspects were located.
