SALT LAKE CITY —Salvador Flores, 29, was booked into jail yesterday after being released from the hospital. He is charged with two Felony counts of Assault, Weapons Violation by a Restricted Person, Resisting Arrest and other misdemeanor charges.
Flores invoked his right to an attorney; therefore detectives were unable to interview him about the incident.
The video of the shooting is a key piece of evidence, that if released may impact Flores’s right to a fair trial. As a result, the video is a protected record under the Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA). The video may be released at the discretion of the District Attorney’s Office after the case has been adjudicated, or at the discretion of Flores or his attorney.
