May 21, 2015: Free Ice Cream, conversation 11-1 p.m. at the Sugar House McDonald’s
SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department will team up with McDonald’s in Sugar House Thursday for “Chill with a Cop” outreach event of the summer.
From 11-1 p.m. Thursday, May 21, McDonalds at 945 E. 2100 S. will offer free ice cream cones to anyone who speaks with an officer. Community Intelligence Officerswill be on hand to answer questions about crime trends and public safety issues in your neighborhood or anywhere.
We encourage community members to meet with us. Spring is in the air and the season may generate questions/suggestions you may have about crime, the nature of community policing or upcoming community events in your area including ideas to help improve your neighborhood.
“Chill with a Cop” breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction between police officers and community members, one ice cream cone at a time. For information about hosting this monthly event, please call 801-799-6397.
