Officers were notified of a person possibly being held against his will. Officers arrived at the apartment and found uncooperative residents until eventually a 21-year-old man with injuries to his face came to the door. He confirmed he was being held by the residents and that his car had been stolen. Upon investigation three persons were arrested. Nathaly Russell, 26, Blas Garcia, 39, and Daniel Bautista-Gallardo, 23, were all booked for aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping.The stolen vehicle was recovered.
DUI traffic accident

An officer was waved over by witnesses who reported a crash. Driver Juan Carlos Batalla, 19, was driving westbound on North Temple when he lost control of his vehicle. He struck several traffic posts before crashing into the front of City Creek Mall. Batalla was processed for driving under the influence. Hazmat and The Health Department were called to the scene as a precaution. The Fire department responded for a minor fluid leak from the vehicle. Batalla was booked into jail for DUI, negligent collision. He was uninjured.
