A man entered the store and attempted to steal some items. He assaulted the female clerk when she attempted to confront him. Another customer intervened by approaching and talking the suspect into leaving the store. Officers arrived and took Mohamed Mohamud, 18, into custody and booked him for robbery and assault.
Fatal Traffic Accident
700 E. 2400 S.
A motorcycle was heading north along 700 East approaching the freeway underpass when a vehicle in front slowed for a red light. The motorcycle collided with the rear of the vehicle and the 28 year-old-male motorcycle driver sustained critical head injury. He was transported to the hospital where he passed away.
