800 S. 900 W.
The suspect entered the 7-11, brandished a weapon and went behind the counter. He told the clerk to give him the money and took cash out of the till. The suspect then fled North on 900 W on foot. The suspect is described as male white, in his 20’s, wearing a black hoodie with the hood up, dark pants, with a mask over his lower face.
Burglary-Possession of a Gun by a Restricted Person
972 W. 800 S.
The suspect, Chad Hatcher (30yrs old) was trespassing in a vacant home located at 972 W 800 S. A property manager for the house asked for assistance in clearing the house. Officers located Hatcher while clearing the house and took him into custody. Hatcher is a convicted felon and was found to be in possession of a shotgun. Hatcher admitted to stealing the shotgun from another house 3 days prior. Hatcher was booked into jail for burglary, possession of a firearm by a restricted person, trespassing, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Strong Arm Robbery
1875 W. Independence
The victim had just gotten off the bus and was walking home to 1800 West Independence when he was rushed by two black males. One of the black males grabbed the victim around the neck and throat as the other black male hit the victim with a bat on the left arm. As the victim was being held by one of the black males the other went through his pockets. The victim did not report anything missing from his pockets and did not know the males. A bat was recovered on scene and booked into evidence.
