Compiled by Watch Commanders in the field, the Watch Log is a summary of events that stand out to them in a given 24-hour period. 2265 S. Highland Dr.
A male suspect entered the Radio Shack, selected several items, and threatened the clerk before leaving the store without paying. The suspect was seen fleeing the scene in a Silver ’04 Land Rover Discovery. Detectives believe they know who the suspect is and have put out an attempt to locate to officers.
414 E. 200 S.
Two male adults went into the 7-11 and selected several items from the store. They then departed the store without paying for the items. One of the store clerks chased them down to the parking lot and a struggle ensued. At some point during the struggle a good Samaritan came to the clerk’s aid. As the struggle continued one of the suspects brandished a knife and managed to get away while the other suspect was detained for officers. Officers were able to capture the suspect with the knife a short distance away and he was identified as Forrest Matthews Hall, 23.Hall was booked into jail for aggravated robbery, and several outstanding warrants. The second suspect Michael Thomas Piper, 25, was booked into jail for aggravated robbery.
Attempted car jack
1121 W. Dalton Ave.
A 26-year-old female reported that while she had stopped her car in the above area to use her phone two male suspects attempted to take her car. The victim accelerated her car before they could enter. Suspect #1 is described as a male, possibly Polynesian, medium build, goatee, a gold tooth, and was wearing a hoodie and sweat pants. Suspect #2 is described as a very thin male, wearing a T-shirt and sweat pants.
Assault on police officer
1737 N. Beck St.
Officers responded to Southern Exposure on a report of a female trying to fight with everyone. An officer arrived, located the suspect, handcuffed her, and put her into his car while he continued to investigate. Shortly after, the officer opened the door of his car to speak with the suspect when she kicked him in the face (no injury) and tried to kick him several more times. She was extracted from the car and escorted to another officer’s vehicle. Liliane Sirivejchaphan, 28, was booked into jail for public intoxication and assault on a police officer.
