Vandalism/possible hate crime
1500 S. 1000 W.
A man found a sexually oriented slur spray painted on his home. He also reported other damage to his home and vehicle. Investigation ongoing.
DUI traffic accident
5600 W. California Ave.
A woman driving south on 5600 West, swerving across lanes on and off the roadway, ran the red light at the intersection at California Avenue, causing a collision. The woman then exited her vehicle, got into the vehicle of a witness and reportedly offered them methamphetamine to drive her from the scene. When that person refused the driver attempted to flee on foot. Just then a Salt Lake County deputy arrived and confronted the fleeing woman who resisted and attempted to take the officer’s Taser. Other officers arrived and Skye Stricker, 28, was arrested and booked on several felony charges including attempting to disarm a peace officer.
Hit and run
300 W. 300 S.
A man leaving the Twilight Concert attempted to run across 300 West and was struck by a vehicle which left the scene. The 22-year-old man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. It is likely the SUV sustained front-end damage. The vehicle has been described as a dark colored SUV.
