9:42 a.m. Robbery
28 S. State St.
A man was in the bathroom of the City Creek mall when a male entered and used physical force to rob the victim of personal belongings. The victim sustained minor injuries to his hand and face. The suspect was identified to mall security personnel, who held him until police arrived. Police booked Tobin Cowley, 25, for robbery.
8:53 p.m. Shots fired 800 N. Starcrest Dr.
Police responded to the area where several shots were reportedly fired. Officers were able to see where multiple bullets had struck a home nearby. No one was injured. Detectives are investigating the case as possibly gang related.
