Aggravated assault on a peace officer

Officers responded on a robbery call at the Wasatch Inn. Upon arrival they contacted a group of people attempting to leave in a vehicle that was listed as stolen. Officers were getting people out of the vehicle when the driver accelerated in reverse, trapping an officer between the driver side door and the vehicle. The officer was able to get free from the vehicle without being injured. The vehicle fled and officers attempted to pursue but soon called off the pursuit in the interest of public safety. The driver of the vehicle has been identified and charges will be screened.
