Attempt vehicle theft
535 S 200 E
Matthew Greene 30, used metal pole to break into a vehicle, officers arrived on scene and challenged Greene while he was still in the car. Greene stated as he was challenged that he had stolen a backpack prior to breaking into the current vehicle and that there might be an explosive in it. Officers set up containment on the parking lot. Greene exited the vehicle leaving the backpack and was taken into custody. It was determined that there was not an explosive in the backpack and the scene was cleared. Greene was taken to jail for attempted vehicle theft, vehicle burglary, and public intoxication.

Chijindu Ubani 23, was seen shoplifting at the Walmart and he was stopped by security. Ubani was asked to come to the security office but refused. Ubani began to resist. An officer working part time at Walmart attempted to take Ubani into custody. During the course of the arrest the officer’s hand was injured. Ubani was cited and released due to jail restrictions.
