Call times listed are approximate and typically reflect the first call received by SLC911 (Dispatch) for a given case. Items contained herein are based on information available at the time of its release and should not be interpreted as an admission or finding of guilt. A 25-year-old man, possibly under the influence of drugs and suffering mental issues, checked into Salt Lake Regional Hospital. While being attended the man suddenly ran off through the hospital, found an empty room, locked himself in and barricaded the door. Inside the room he began breaking things including the window. Officers arrived, contained the room, and waited him out. Some two and half hours after the incident began the man crashed through a wall into waiting officers who took him into custody after a bite from a K9. The man was turned over to hospital staff for evaluation and injuries he caused to himself.
