Threats/Foot Pursuit

Case 16-166904
Officers responded to Bobs Magazine on a trespasser who was making threats. Officers located the suspect who began running and hiding from officers. The suspect, Takallsi Vehikite provided false information and officers noticed that the clothing the suspect had in a bag matched a Robbery from a cab driver earlier in the day. Officers also located stolen items from a burglary from the main library. Takallsi was booked for Burglary, Robbery, Fleeing, and False Info class A, Possession of another’s DL and Credit cards.

Foot Pursuit-Officer Injured
800 W. 200 S.

Officers stopped a vehicle for expired registration at 800 W. 200 S. under the I-15 freeway viaduct. The single occupant, Jesser Cardona-Videa (20yrs old) fled on foot onto I-15 N/B freeway. Officers lost sight of Cardona briefly but then Officers spotted him at approximately at 50 N. I-15. Cardona jumped the cement retainer wall on the east side of I-15 N/B and an Officer followed. On the other side of the wall was an approximate 25 foot drop to the ground below. Cardona was somehow able to slow his fall by grabbing onto a tree and lowering himself to the ground. Unfortunately, the Officer suffered a significant fall to the ground below (at 50 N. 700 W.) and suffered serious injuries. The officer is stable and is expected to recover.
Cardona fled into the large apartment complex east of 50 N. 700 W. and containment was set up. Cardona was eventually located in a garbage shoot inside the apartment complex. Cardona was booked for Class A fleeing, resisting arrest and two outstanding felony warrants for drug distribution.

The clerk at the 7-11 reported 2 black male adults in their 40s, entered the store both armed with handguns. One suspect approached the counter and demanded money from the till. The clerk complied and the suspects fled in an unknown direction. One suspect was wearing a bulky black hoody with khaki tan pants. The second suspect was wearing a bulky black and grey flannel shirt.
