Assault on a police officer
1699 W. North Temple St.
Police were called to a theft at the above address. When an officer attempted to take the suspect into custody, the man tackled the officer and punched him repeatedly. The officer and the clerk fought with the suspect until the officer deployed his Taser and was able to take him into custody. Officers booked Tiafaaofo Gatoloai, 22, into jail for theft, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance.
1630 W. Ivy Cir.
Officers responded to calls of shots fired in the area of Ivy Circle. Multiple casings were located in the street at Ivy Cir and several bullet holes were located in the building. Officers made entry with a key from the resident manager and located no victims inside but did locate blood. While this was being investigated, dispatch received a call from a male stating that his friend had been shot in the leg and went to the hospital. Officers responded to the hospital and interviewed the victim. Investigation still ongoing as of this writing.
