Bike theft

Officers were notified of a bike theft. They reviewed video surveillance at West High School and observed a man cutting a lock off the bike. Officers then saw the suspect riding the bike and were able to take him into custody. The suspect had a backpack containing cable cutters.  The man admitted to stealing the bike. Officers booked Jess Stewart, 38, into jail for theft, criminal trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana and burglary tools.

Officers observed suspicious activity near a vehicle. After several hours contact was made with a man who jumped into the vehicle. The suspect was asked for identification.  The man then exited the vehicle and ran from the officers. The suspect was quickly taken into custody. Officers booked Lavell Jackson, 37, into jail for fleeing on foot and possession of spice and heroin.
