Officers responded on a traffic accident and found that a vehicle hit a tree. The driver was found near the vehicle. The man told Officers that he was very tired and had nodded off while driving. It was discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen. The suspect was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Investigation ongoing.
6400 W. 300 S.
Three juveniles were parked when another vehicle pulled up. Three suspects exited the vehicle and approached the victim’s vehicle. One of the suspects pulled out a shot gun and fired it into the air. The suspect then pointed the gun at the victim’s and demanded their property. The suspects then left the area. The first suspect is described as a Polynesian male adult no further description. The second suspect is described as a Polynesian male adult, tall and thin, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The third suspect is described as a Polynesian male adult, short with a heavy build wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. The suspect vehicle is described as a light blue Dodge Stratus.
Aggravated assault on police officer
790 S. 900 W.
Officers encountered two males at this location. One of the males was a listed juvenile runaway with a pickup order. The juvenile was taken into custody. The second male asked officers for a ride to the shelter and was told no. The man got angry and told officers that he had a pipe in his pocket and then said that he had a gun and quickly reached into his pocket. Officers quickly drew their weapons and challenged the suspect to show his hands, which he did. Officers took the suspect into custody and did not locate a gun. Officers booked Isiah Florez, 18, into jail for aggravated assault on a peace officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.
