2620 N. 3200 W.
The witness was riding his horse on his property at the above location when he came across the victim that had been deceased for an undetermined amount of time. No immediate cause of death could be determined and the victim could not be identified at this time. Homicide Detectives and Medical Examiner responded. Investigation is ongoing.
573 N. Wall St.
Dispatch received a call of a deceased female in the listed address. The complainant that called also claimed to have been responsible for the death of the victim. Officers arrived and located victim Rose Marie Harris (54) deceased in the home. Officers also located the complainant; A/P Sue Hickman (53) at a different address. Homicide detectives, Crime Lab, and Medical Examiner all responded for processing and interviews. Hickman booked into jail for Murder. Investigation still ongoing.
777 S. State St.
The suspect entered the store and took a pack of cigarettes. The victim, attempted to keep the suspect inside the store. Two other employees assisted the victim one of them grabbing a baseball bat. The suspect place to hand inside his backpack intimating a firearm and was able to flee northbound on State Street. The suspect is described as a male black adult, 6’2″ tall, skinny, afro, wearing a zip up hoodie red and black in color and gray pants.
200 S. 500 W.
Officers observed an occupied stolen vehicle (UT plate F196T) at 200 S 500 W being driven by Gilbert Rodriguez (40) A high hazard stop was conducted at 321 W 200 S and Rodriguez was taken into custody without incident. Rodriguez was booked into jail for possession of a stolen vehicle, numerous felony warrants, and possession of another’s financial transaction cards.
807 South Garfield Ave.
Metro gang unit searched for Jose Trimble (22) a known gang member with aggravated assault warrants plus other felony warrants. AP&P also verified Trimble has a Board of Pardons warrant as well for his arrest. Detectives set up surveillance and spent several hours looking for Trimble who is also known to carry firearms. Trimble was located at the Garfield Ave. address. Metro Gang Units along with Salt Lake City Patrol and West Valley PD K-9 took Trimble into custody as he exited the residence.
2466 S Highland
The female victim was walking home along Highland Drive. As she was walking past 2466 S Highland Dr. an unknown male walked up behind her and grabbed her from behind. The male then pushed her down into the snow, placed his hand underneath her shirt and bra. The victim screamed and the male ran away towards Fairmont Park. She described the male as being white with light colored hair, roughly 6 feet tall with a slim/athletic build. The male was wearing all black and did not say anything to her during the assault. The victim did not sustain any physical injuries during the assault.
Fight / Shots Fired
357 S Main St
Officers responded to a large fight in the area outside Maxwell’s bar. One male victim (26), was located at Cactus St / Exchange Place being attended to. He had severe facial injuries. Officers were directed to the parking garage where witnesses stated that the suspects were about to leave in a red pickup truck. As officers were nearing the parking garage, two shots were heard. Witnesses pointed to a shirtless male fleeing on foot EB on Exchange Pl. Officers pursued and eventually caught the suspect Austin Nelson, (22). Austin admitted to having the gun and firing in the air. Austin was booked for threatening with a dangerous weapon, public intox, fleeing from officers and various other misdemeanors.
