Robbery ( Knife )
Rancho Market at 140 North, 900 West
A/p Joshua Bell (28) and A/p Shelby Banks (23) were observed by loss prevention concealing items and then passed all points of sell. An employee tried to stop the suspect who tried to walk away. The employee grabbed the bag that Banks was holding and Bell reacted by producing a knife and slashing the employee across the right arm. The ap’s then fled on foot. Officers went to the Gateway Inn and showed the clerk pictures of the suspects. A short time later officers located the suspects and took them into custody; also seizing the knife and bag containing the stolen property from Rancho Market. Both suspects were to be booked for aggravated robbery/assault; Bell also for F2 warrants and Banks for MA warrant.
161 E 200 S
A group was drinking at Bar X and being disruptive so security asked them to leave. As they were escorting them out, a short scuffle ensued and the group left SB across 200 S. As they left two males pulled handguns and began firing in the air, one of the males (susp #2) fired two rounds back over his shoulder as they reached the south side of 200 S. One of those shots penetrated the window at Taquiera 27. Some of the suspects left in a vehicle, possible a silver minivan. As officers arrived, they were directed to two other suspects were who were just leaving in another vehicle. The vehicle was stopped a short distance away. Demetrie Salazar (22) was taken into custody. Witnesses from the bar positively identified Demetrie as having been one of the two males who fired shots. He was booked into jail for F3 Discharge of a Firearm. The other male who fired shots was described as MHA, early to mid 20’s, large build wearing a Chicago Bulls jacket.
