Suspicious Circumstances – Impersonating officer
Various Locations
17-25391, 17-25444
On at least two occasions tonight, an Orange Jeep Cherokee has approached security guards and interacted with them while giving the impression that the driver was a police officer. He did not take any police action but at the Jerry Seiner lot at 730 W 2100 S, he contacted the armed security guard, asked for his ID and demanded to know why he was armed. Later, near the Grand America, he approached the Grand America security, and told them they were ridiculous for riding in a golf cart. Suspect descriptions vary, so there may be more than one suspect, but the Orange Jeep was consistent. At Grand America, it had a possible Utah plate 213448EX. That plate comes back to a white Chev pickup registered to Salt Lake Community College. Officers saw a likely similar vehicle but with no plate Northbound on Redwood Rd but it fled at a high rate of speed. Suspect from Seiner: male white adult with blonde hair, good teeth, clean shaven, dark baseball cap with “Police” written on it, badge on lanyard around neck, Suspect from Grand America: male white in his 30s, full but “splotchy” beard, missing teeth, wearing brown jacket, blue baseball cap with “Police” written on it, police badge hanging around neck.
