Assault on a police officer

A victim found her stolen scooter for sale online and contacted police. The victim, suspect and police met up. When the suspect saw the officer he sprayed him with pepper spray and fled on foot. Officers chased the suspect and took him into custody. Officers booked Derek Davis, 46, into jail for theft of a motor vehicle, fleeing on foot and assault on a police officer.

Dispatch received a call of a male that had been shot near 235 South 500 West. Officers located a victim, who was taken to a local hospital, and were given a description of the suspects. Shortly after, officers spotted the suspect vehicle which fled from police. A pursuit ensued that ended in Tooele County. Shots were exchanged. No officers were injured. Investigation on going.
