Police Seek To Identify Suspect In Multiple Robberies

SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect from two robberies that occurred on Saturday, July 8, 2017.

At 8:51 a.m. a man entered a laundromat at 2149 East 2100 South. The man approached a business employee with a knife and demanded cash. When the suspect was informed that the business had no money he took the victim’s car keys and fled in the vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered in Murray City.

Later that same day, at 2:17 p.m., the same man entered a bank at 3190 South Highland Drive, brandished a knife and demanded money from the tellers. After getting cash the suspect fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a black male adult, approximately 50 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, thin build, with a slightly graying beard, wearing a navy T-shirt, black athletic pants with a white stripe, black and white athletic shoes, a dark colored baseball cap, sunglasses and gloves.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
