Shots fired/Damaged property
1362 N. Miami Rd.
Occupants of the home heard what they thought was a firework but then heard a commotion on the first level of their home. They found a bullet hole in the back of their home that traveled into the living area and broke a pot on the stove. It is unknown who fired the round, but it is believed that the shot came from nearby apartments. No injuries to any occupants of the home.
1707 South 300 West
Two male juveniles entered the Maverick at the above location. One produced a handgun and pointed it at the clerk. The clerk, with the assistance of a witness, took the weapon away and detained the juvenile until officers arrived. The other juvenile fled the scene. The juvenile and his partner may responsible for similar robberies in Midvale, Millcreek, Magna, and West Valley.
110 South 600 West
The victim stated he was passing through the area when two males attempted to take a backpack from an unidentified third party. The victim inserted himself into the fray and was shot by suspect number one who was described only as taller black male adult. The second suspect is described only as a dark skinned male. Both suspects fled the area in a white 1996 or 1997 Honda Civic. The victim suffered a wound to his lower midsection, he was taken to a local hospital in serious but stable condition.
