Compiled by Watch Commanders in the field, the Watch Log is a summary of events that stand out to them in a given 24-hour period. 310 S. 900 E.
A man entered the store carrying a handgun, approached the clerk and demanded cash. After receiving money, the suspect ran to a vehicle in the parking lot and drove southbound. The vehicle was described as a van. The suspect described as a white male adult, approximately 30 years old, 5’6″ tall, thin build, with sores on his face, wearing a blue long sleeve shirt, sunglasses, and baseball cap.

A male entered the store and wandered around. When the man eventually approached the front counter the clerk saw a gun in his waistband and fled the store. The clerk called the police and gave a description that matched the description of the male in an earlier robbery. One officer observed the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop it, but the suspect fled. The suspect was lost in the area of 300 North Main Street and the suspect vehicle was found unoccupied 241 North Vine Street. Officers responded to the area and located the suspect. Officers booked Todd Jacobson, 32, into jail for aggravated robbery.
600 E. 900 S.
A family was at the park near the playground while their 5-year-old girl was at the playground. As the adults talked with each other a man approached them, began talking with them, and asked about the girl. The man then ran toward the girl in what appeared to be an effort to grab her. Family members were able to catch the suspect before he reached the girl and held him for police. Police booked Steven Montoya, 36, into jail for attempted kidnapping.
996 S. Redwood Rd.
A man was sitting in his semi-tractor in the rear of the lot when a car pulled up and 2 men exited. He was approached by one of the men who pointed a handgun at him and demanded cash. When the victim attempted to move back further into the semi the suspect fired a round that missed the victim. The suspects then fled the scene in a red Honda four-door sedan. The suspects were described as white or Hispanic, 18 – 20 years old.
800 W. North Temple St.
Officers responded on calls of shots fired and a man down. When police arrived they found a 28-year-old man unconscious with a bullet wound. The man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. During the investigation officers discovered a 43-year-old man had been transported to the hospital with multiple stab wounds. Investigation ongoing.
