Witnesses called to report that a man pulled up to a business in a vehicle, confronted them with a knife, and ran away on foot. Dispatch then received a call about a carjacking with a gun in the area. Moments later another call came in about a second carjacking with a gun at Dave Strong Audi involving the same suspect. Shortly after that the suspect attempted to enter an apartment in the area of 700 South 200 West. The suspect was spotted by arriving officers. After a brief foot pursuit the suspect pointed his gun at officers and was then challenged by them. The suspect surrendered by throwing his gun into the road and was taken into custody. It was determined that the vehicle the suspect originally arrived in was also stolen. Officers booked Eddie C. Sanchez, 45, into jail for two counts of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault on a police officer, fleeing on foot, and possession of another person’s identifying documents.
