Distribution of drugs
176 W. 600 S.

Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was determined that this vehicle was involved in another case where the occupants had thrown drugs out the car window. Officers retraced the route and located drugs in a motel parking lot. Video surveillance was reviewed and it showed the passenger throwing a sock out the window just before it was stopped. The sock contained heroin and cocaine. Officers booked Carlos Mairena-Platero, 23, into jail for possession with intent to distribute, tampering with evidence, and false information.
