SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department will be hosting a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Academy for police officers and police trainees. This academy provides training for officers to enable them to learn about and identify signs of community members who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Salt Lake City Police Department is committed to providing the best possible resources for those who are in crisis. Currently, Salt Lake City Police Department trains all new recruits in CIT and has over 300 officers serving who have had the training.

This training will consist of classroom instruction, site visits, and scenarios taught by CIT staff and mental health professionals from various agencies throughout the valley.

  • When: Monday, May 7th through Thursday, May 10th from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
