Officers heard several shots fired from the area of the recreation center and then they encountered Christian Ortiz, age 19, on the trail. The suspect ran and officers gave chase and caught him. Ortiz had an empty .45 auto magazine and a single unfired .45 round in his pocket. Several .45 casings were found on the trail. No gun was located. There was no damage reported from the gunshots. Ortiz was taken to jail for failure to stop at the command of a law enforcement officer.
