Assault on a police officer
Officers were dispatched on a juvenile harassing another child at Fairmont Park. When they made contact with the juvenile suspect he was uncooperative and confrontational. While detaining the juvenile a group of people surrounded the officers and a second adult suspect assaulted them. Other officers were called to assist and the crowd dispersed. Officers booked Joseph Christiansen, 25, into jail for assault on a police officer, interference, failure to disperse and possession of a controlled substance. The original juvenile suspect was booked into juvenile detention for resisting arrest and assault on a police officer. Both officers sustained minor scrapes and were cleared medically.
