Fatal Traffic Accident
400 West 500 South

The victim, Roy Hostetler 57 years old, was on his motorcycle traveling westbound on 500 South. After entering the intersection at 400 West, the victim was struck by another vehicle as it was traveling northbound in the number 2 lane on 400 West through the 500 South intersection. Hostetler was initially treated by fire but later pronounced dead at the scene. The inter-agency CART unit responded to handle the investigation.

09:41 a.m.
570 South 700 East

A male entered the bank at this location and passed a note to the teller demanding cash. He left with cash and fled to the south west of the Wells Fargo. The male had darker skin, was in his mid-20s, wearing a fishing style hat, dirty green shirt and khaki pants and dark skin. Robbery and FBI responded.

6:37 p.m.
888 South 400 West

The victim and Anthony Oliva, 20, got into an argument for unknown reasons inside this location. They took their fight outside and in the course of the confrontation Oliva stabbed the victim once in the chest. Oliva left eastbound on 900 South as officers were arriving. He was taken into custody and identified by several witnesses. The weapon was located nearby. The victim was taken to an area hospital in Bravo-condition. Oliva was booked into jail for aggravated assault and possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person.
