The owners of this house were cleaning out the garage when they found a suspicious projectile with Japanese writing on it. HDU along with Utah Air National Guard responded to render the device safe and take possession of it. After taking the device to their mobile station, the Air National Guard rendered the device inert.

Marcos Renteria 37, was involved in an altercation at a gas station where he pulled a knife and slashed two tires on another man’s car. The owner of the car then got into a physical altercation with Renteria and the owner was stabbed in the abdomen. Renteria then fled that scene in his vehicle.
Renteria then confronted a group of children in the area of 100 N. Chicago Street. The children were in their front yard when Renteria approached with a knife out and yelling at them. The father of the children intervened and was assaulted by Renteria. The father tried to stop Renteria from leaving that scene and was struck by Renteria with the vehicle. The father suffered minor injuries.
Renteria then proceeded to drive to the area of Indiana Ave where he nearly hit another vehicle. Renteria exited his vehicle and threatened the driver of the other car. The other driver took off in his vehicle and Renteria followed. Renteria followed to the area of 1564 W. Indiana Ave where he struck the other vehicle with his. He then exited the vehicle and again threatened the other driver with a knife. A bystander called police and Renteria fled on foot. Officers located Renteria in a park at 1000 W. South Temple. He was non-compliant. A taser was used unsuccessfully. Officers delivered a physical blow to Renteria and he was knocked to the ground and taken into custody. Renteria was taken to jail and booked on several charges related to all of the above incidents.
