1817 S. 700 E.
A male entered the store and produced a weapon. The clerk of the store fled to a neighboring business. The suspect helped himself to the cash register and left the store. A witness from the business the clerk ran into, called police and then got into his personal vehicle and followed the suspect giving updates to 911. Officers arrived in the area, and after a brief chase, took James Allen, 57, into custody. Allen was booked into jail for aggravated robbery, false information, and warrants.

Reports of shots fired came into dispatch and officers in the area heard them as well. Officers checked the area and found shell casings in the alley behind the above address. No signs of damage by the gunfire.
