Assault on a Police Officer
322 E. 300 S.
Dispatch received several calls of a person yelling at people in the area of 252 S. 400 E. He was located outside of the YWCA where he assaulted a female dropping off her child. Detectives located at the YWCA came out and the male began to fight with them. Two detectives were able to take Zachary Jacob, 41, into custody. He was taken to jail on related charges.
1379 N. Miami Circle
Several calls came in of shots fired at this house, which is vacant but appears to be a flop house. Multiple shell casings were found in the street. 5-6 people ran from the house. There was no report of damage or injuries.
500 E. 300 S.
A vehicle was traveling eastbound on 300 S. going through the light at 500 E. Two pedestrians were still in the crosswalk of the intersection and were struck by the vehicle. Both were in critical condition and were transported to a local hospital. One of the pedestrians John Hautau, 40, died as a result of the collision. Justin Williford, 23, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
