Protective Order Violation
1433 W. Indiana Avenue
Officers responded to the listed address for a protective order violation and contacted Eric Garcia ,19, Knowing that Garcia was in violation of the protective order officers attempted to take Garcia into custody. Garcia resisted the officers and taser was used to deliver a drive-stun that assisted the officers in making the arrest. Garcia was booked for the protective order violation and resisting arrest.
125 S. 300 E.
Officers responded to an unknown problem at 125 S. 300 E. Officers were alerted to an apartment after hearing screaming. Officers challenged a male though an apartment window. There was an exchange of gunfire and one officer was struck in the leg by a bullet. Officers gained entry to the building and then to the apartment. Inside they discovered a female deceased. The male suspect had fled the scene. The male suspect was located a couple blocks East of the apartment and was taken into custody. Per the OICI protocol Unified Police led team will be investigating. They will be handling the homicide investigation as well.
