Traffic Stop-Drug Arrest
751 W. 700 S.
Bike Officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Jeep Cherokee that was displaying the plates to another vehicle. During the investigation and vehicle impound, officers found driver Carlos Martinez, 41, to be in possession of methamphetamine. Martinez was booked for multiple charges related to this incident. Passenger Irene Albor, 41, was booked for outstanding warrants.

Officers were dispatched to the Target parking lot on a report of a male attempting to smash the window of a parked Lexus. Upon arriving officers located a male by the name of John Capito, 30, walking away from the car, Capito was on the phone with AAA towing. Capito informed officers that he was trying to get into his car, officers noticed that inside the car near the center console in plain view was what appeared to be cocaine and heroin. Officers also located cocaine on Capito. Capito is also on Federal probation and had warrants for his arrest. AAA arrived and unlocked the car, officers seized heroin, meth, cocaine and marijuana, as well as a Glock handgun that was located under the driver seat. The gun was listed as stolen. Capito was charged with drug distribution and possession of stolen property, and possession of a firearm by restricted person.
